XinSong bring us to the beginning. The beginner’s mind, the beginner’s eye are reminded that they are awake and have capacity. Her painstaking draughtsman ship is effortlessly erinced in each of her works. The technique of cutting allies the surgeon’s precision with the gardener’s patience. Layer upon layer of meanings link with the ability to allow the images to settle a resonate. Her work renders the nightmarish as pacts of reality fully --and allows them to resume their proper place, as the minor parts of a composition. Her delicacy of touch is the key to bringing the words “Dream on” back to their natural place in the critical vocabulary. The hovering of her spring time is joyous, The rich fruitfulness of her maturity an inspiration for the future. She allows us to transcend the limits of our borders, whilst allowing the humor from cultivating our own gardens to bubble forth in the expression of an invitation to further mystery and communication. It is difficult for me to step back from XinSong’s work and regard it without the knowledge of her personal sweetness but that sacrifice I would make.The personal is small in the face of her works; the person is bigger; and larger looms the dream.
